The bookselling and craft beer worlds each had a major story this week that seemed to overshadow all the others. For the book folks, the #AmazonFail debacle over the holiday weekend captured most of the headlines. For beer lovers, the week was dominated by discussion of the hype for, release of, and reaction to Anat Baron’s film Beer Wars. Rather than spend a lot of time commenting on these topics, I’ll let you browse through the excellent reactions collected at the Church of the Customer and at BeerNews.org.
Brewing and publishing at large did hum along behind the roar of these stories. Here in Maine there has was some great local coverage of the beer biz this week, and a popular topic of discussion among the literatti has been, as usual, the future of the printed book and brick and mortar bookstore.
